April 8, 2009 - The Team from Italy of American Students and their leaders have been here. God has used them and they have done a great job and showing and being Jesus to the Bulgarians.
Arriving Saturday night they hit the ground running on Sunday as they participated in a Mikrovo church service and then held a kids club program with games, songs, dramas, recreation and a whole lot LOVE.
Monday brought the kick-off to our P-Town English Club for teens. We had no idea how many to expect and what the response would be but it went well. About 30 teen age students were there. (Plus a whole lot of others to watch or who wanted to be there but were too young.)
Tuesday was a sunny day and we went to Mikrov and as usual in the village as soon as we arrived the kids were there. The teens sang, played, hugged, told stories about Jesus and loved these kids. One young boy said “This is the best day of my entire Life!” Wow – they heard about and SAW Jesus today!
Wednesday the group went to the market and then did another round of games and activities for English Club (with many returning from Monday). They joined us for our Bible Study Group (which put our numbers at 38 – our highest total so far) as well where they led worship. J
Thursday (the day of this posting) they are heading up to Sofia for a look at the city and some of the history and culture of Bulgaria. Thanks to all who prayed for us this week for us! God heard and answered your prayers!
Now during the pick up at the airport our car died – and it is going to take quite a bit to fix it – we at first thought we might need a new (used) engine. In the end it was $650 Leva (about $440). Thank the Lord. We were able to rent a car, which helped with the group being here.
So this week Pray…
… for the contacts and the new relationships we have and that they churches have.
… for our transportation issues – we travel a lot and a good car is important
… for the team as they head home – that the lessons learned will impact them for a lifetime!
Praise the Lord for HE is good! We also want to wish you all a blessed and happy Easter! We have a week to go as we are on the orthodox calendar and our Easter is April 19, 2009. But for those who celebrate this week – May the Power of the Risen Lord be with you and Equip you to live for Him – Always!
