March 29, 2018 – For our supporters and readers in the West, this is Easter Weekend! But for us in Bulgaria, our Easter is one week later (April 8th) this Sunday will be our Psalm Sunday. Whatever day one celebrates Easter the purpose is the same.
We do so to be reminded and to share with those who don’t understand what God did by coming to earth, living a perfect life among us, becoming the payment for our sin, and restoring those who believe into a right relationship with Himself.
Paul in Romans says it this way:
5:6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 5:7 (For rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person perhaps someone might possibly dare to die.) 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 5:9 Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God’s wrath. 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by his life? 5:11 Not only this, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation.
This year as you celebrate Easter (whenever you do), remember why we celebrate and use this time to point others to the Jesus who paid it all for us!
This week pray for…
…our upcoming annual meeting of our church pastors and leaders
…ongoing process and work on the St John’s home for at risk girls
…one of the boxes we shipped last week is lost (or so we are told by the shipping company) please pray that it might be found and delivered to where it need to be delivered.
We have a special request – we are now looking at needing a Vehicle from June 23rd – July 17th when we are stateside – we have one for the first 2 months of our time. Please pray about this for us and if you have a vehicle or know someone who might let us use one please let us know.
