November 13, 2020 - Diane and I have been on the road for 14 days (this trip). We have traveled to Missouri, Iowa, and Kansas with Wisconsin coming this weekend. We will have connected with 6 churches during this excursion. We also encountered van problems twice on this trip. The first was our brakes started grinding and then the transmission went out.
With the brakes, I called one of the Pastors of a supporting church (we were going to be staying a few days in their town) if he knew anyone that could work on the brakes and he said yes. We got there and dropped the van off and the brakes got fixed – when I asked what do we owe, He said nothing (someone else paid for the repair). We were so blessed and thankful because we did not have a great deal of funds for this.
We arrived in McPherson to be with my family who live there and share at the church in town with no trouble. The next day we went out to run some errands and the van would not go it just stopped (on Main Street). We had it looked at and were told to take it to a transmission shop. This was now Saturday morning and the shop was not open – I called, left a voice message and on Sunday we were able to get the van to the parking lot in hopes that they could work on it.
We also asked for prayer on FaceBook as the projected cost was going to be about $3500 which we did not have, but we did not say that we simply asked folks to pray that it could be fixed quickly and at a reasonable price.
Over the course of the next 3 days, we had 4 gifts to help us get the transmission fixed. We did not ask, we simply shared a prayer request.
We are so humbled by the generosity of our supporters and folks that they know (as one gift came from a church who heard about it from a supporter who reposted the request on their church's prayer chain).
God has reminded us that what we are doing is what HE wants us to do and HE will meet all our needs in HIS timing! Thanks for those who prayed!
